To accurately document a trip such as the recent Canada to Mexico journey undertaken by Herbert Schwarz, Ramona Eichhorn and Helge Pedersen, requires not only photographic skills of the highest quality but also riding ability to match, along with an inherent understanding of the BMW Motorrad ethos.
It was for these reasons that Herbert Schwarz had the perfect person in mind to join them for their amazing trip from Vancouver to Tecate in Mexico on BMW HP2 Enduros and G 650 Xchallenges. Arnold Debus was the photographer selected to capture this four-week journey over 5,200 kilometres.
Arnold has known Herbert for many years and accompanied him on his Mexico trip in 2005 and the Sardinia journey in 2006. In the ‘70s and ‘80s he also spent a large amount of time exploring Turkey and Africa on a BMW motorcycle, so his riding ability was never in question.
