From race track to road.
The BMW R 1100 S BoxerCup Replika. *

On the race track, the R 1100 S racing machines make the hearts of 2-cylinder fans skip a beat at the international BMW Motorrad BoxerCup. Created for the racetrack, this motorcycle was made available for the road at the end of 2002, the R 1100 S BoxerCup Replika. For the 2004 season there will be a new edition of the Replika after the great success of the predecessor model.

The 2004 Replika will be presented in a completed new three-colour finish - just like the racing machines in 2004 - also dual ignition and a much greater technical proximity to the motorcycles actually used in the races. The 2004 Replika has the higher chassis of the racing motorbikes and a sound-optimised sports end silencer by LASER. For road use, this silencer has been modified to fulfil legal noise requirements. The engine output has not changed: it is the same as the serial production level of the R 1100 S. It is driven by the most powerful serial production BMW flat twin "boxer" engine of all times.

Other new features are the white faces of the instruments, the high seat, the mirrors of the R 1150 GS, which are easier to dismantle for use on closed tracks than the fixed-trim mirrors. In accordance with the character of a sports bike, there is no special equipment available - and no ABS either.

The secret of its success lies in sporty perfection down to the last detail. In the tough world of racing, the front wheel's carbon fender and the carbon fibre cylinder head covers have proven their worth on the world's toughest race tracks. The sports chassis with its long suspension struts provides greater freedom when cornering and the 5.5 x 17 inch rear wheel rim is ideally adapted to the use of high-performance sports tyres. Like the predecessor model, the vehicle is fitted with Metzeler tyres.

In the words of Randy Mamola, four times Grand Prix World Championship runner-up: "With its excellent performance characteristics, the R 1100 S BoxerCup Replika brings the whole fascination of the BoxerCup to the road."
