The BMW Motorrad BoxerCup 2003 is to be held as an official racing series in accordance with the statutes of the UEM (Union Européenne de Motocyclisme). In the regulations for the BMW Motorrad BoxerCup 2003 the following, among other things, is stipulated:

Motor sport regulations of the country and the stipulations of the local organizer.
- Only motorcycles of type BMW R 1100 S of model year 1999 – 2003 that have been prepared according to clearly defined technical regulations are permitted in the racing series.
- 33 free starting places will be allocated to teams at the start of season. The teams decide on the riders. Approximately 4 other places will be occupied by guest riders, VIPs and journalists.
- A total of 9 qualifying rounds will be held for the BMW Motorrad BoxerCup 2003, which will take place during the course of the MotoGP Motorcycle World Championship, the Master of Endurance, the 200 Miles of Daytona and at an event for the British Superbike Championship.
- Two qualifying rounds (30 minutes each) and one race (approx. 70 km) will usually take place at all the races. To qualify for entry, a time must be reached that corresponds to at least 115% of the fastest time recorded during training.
- The first placed winner of a race is credited 25 points, second place 20 points and third place 16 points. Further awarding of points: 4th place: 13 points, 5th place: 11 points, 6th: 10, 7th: 9th, 8: 8th and 9th: 7, 10th: 6, 11th: 5, 12th: 4, 13th: 3, 14th: 2, 15th: 1.
- The points collected during the racing season from the qualifying rounds will be added to each rider score thereby resulting in the overall placings at the end.
- In addition to the prize money for each race, the best-placed teams of the overall placings can also look forward to attractive prizes to at the end of the racing season. The overall winner of the BMW Motorrad BoxerCup 2003 will receive a BMW M3 coupé, for the rider in second place a Cooper S and for the rider in third place there a BMW R 1150 RT.
