R 1100 S: A top class flat-twin boxer machine. The BMW R 1100 S is the sportiest of all the serial BMW street motorcycles. Large displacement, with the appealing 4 stroke sound, athletic and yet light to handle. The start line will include a street racer model with the characteristics of the serial bike, as follows: - 1,085 cm3 - 2-cylinder 4-stroke flat twin boxer engine - 98 HP at 7,500/min - Shaft drive - Telelever at front, Paralever at rear - Tank capacity 18 l - 800 mm seat height - Empty dry weight 208 kg The BMW Motorrad International BoxerCup 2001 rules allows participation with a BMW R 1100 S built between 1998/1999 and 2001/2002. The only motorsports-based changes performed to the normal bike are: - All mirrors and glass parts are either replaced by carbon components or dropped. - Important screws are secured with wire. - The exhaust system is exchanged for a racing system. - The regular optional extra sports package is used. With the exception of the stated racing kit, only original components may be used. |
